Hmmm…
Still unsure of how I feel about Ms. Andrews.
She’s definitely got to let some things go like, really? …he HAS to know what sushi is?? As well traveled as I’ve been since birth (military father & career now) and as many friends of different cultures and backgrounds that I have, there’s still much I’m unaware of but yet, since I know so much, I love when I meet a guy that’s able to introduce me to new things, as well as being able to do the same for him.
I’m an attractive, single, 29 yrs old, successful, Black woman but that’s pretty far as it goes having something in common w/ Helena. Other than the aforementioned, I can’t relate.
Love the skits in these videos

I didn’t read the WaPo article, but I read a few blog posts about it. And of course, the some of the usual themes
inferior black women stay in your lane how dare you think you deserve any better inferior black woman your degree means nothing you are still inferiorwas played out by black men andtheir concubinesblack women in the black blogosphere.I have enjoyed the interviews, and I’m looking forward to the book and the movie.

I’m glad you did this interview. I appreciated the incite into the title of the book, as well as the way the book chronicles her life.
This interview really goes to show you the way news outlets can skew people’s words and intentions. All this time, I was thinking this was some bitter black woman trying to speak for the masses. Granted, people will still label her as such, but I’m interested to read her story.
