Things I Love About Fall
Fall is here and it ain’t goin’ anywhere. Come to think about it, it’s been here for a long time but I’ve been in denial about the season. Gone are the days where I can wear short sleeve shirts, polos, and khakis and just feel comfortable outside. Gone are the days where I can just throw on a light jacket on a cool day and still be…well…cool. With the exception of a few outlier days where the temperature is a bit higher than normal, the northeast is royally f*cked. Emcee Hot Streetz never released his album and Emcee Brick Sickles is about to be on his 3rd LP. Even though I’ve lived in these conditions for 20+ years, I don’t think I’ll ever truly get used to it. However, there are some things that I like about Fall. Well, there are only about 5 things.
1. Cuddling
There is nothing wrong with a grown ass man that likes to get cuddily wuddily with his Booski McSnuggums. I’m a laid back type of dude that spends a lot of time on the couch or in my bedroom relaxing when I don’t have any responsibilities or commitments. There are few things that bring me more joy in the fall than a high quality cuddle/spoon/head in nook session with the boo piece. I can smell her hair, feel manly, and be happy to not be alone at the same time. Well, there is something else about cuddling…
2. Sex
When it’s cold outside, there’s nothing better than body heat. Since I’m already indoors and cuddling with snookums, why not just take off our clothes and continue to embrace? It’s much easier to transition from spooning to forking when you’re already naked. I’m not even talkin’ about aggressive hard-body forking. I’m content to just put my member in the hot pocket while I grin ear to ear as we watch one of our favorite adult films tv shows. Should I want to dive deeper into the hot abyss with a few rounds of pumpski, the option is there. Should I just want to let my thang sit in the sauna of love, I can do that too. It’s a win-win for all parties involved.
3. My Shows are on!
Well, most of them at least. Only thing I’m missing right now is 24. I guess I could throw Lost into the mix, but I’m too far behind in the seasons for it to even matter. Fringe, House, Family Guy, Law and Order SVU, the Cleveland Show, and a few others keep me satisfied but not more satisfied than snookums.
4. An abundance of sports seasons
Say what you want about baseball, but the play off season and the World Series are exciting to me…particularly when the Yankees are in the mix. And if the play offs get boring, I have college football, the NFL, and the start of both the college and NBA basketball seasons. This is also a critical time for training for the indoor track and field season, but of course there are only a select few who would care about that.
5. Sweaters, coats, and fall fashion (in a manly way)
While I most certainly hate freezin’ my a$$ off, I like sweaters and coats. I’m excited about coppin’ some new sweaters and another warm jacket to get me through fall and into the winter season. I also love fall for the way that women begin to dress. Thee summertime attire exposing all the skin is cool, but there’s something about women bein’ put together in the fall that makes me a happy panda and makes me wanna tear off all of shorty’s layers and get to the golden lick-it.
So yeah, these are some of the things I love about Fall? What about you? Is there anything you like about this season? If not, it’s okay to say what you hate as well. I’d be curious to hear what people say they dislike other than the cold.
Damn girl, I’m lovin’ you in them jeans and that sweater,

Yay. I’m first. I like a lot of things about the fall.
I love the way leaves change colors and fall into the yard. There is something about racking the leaves into a big stack and playing in them that makes me smile.
Boots. I have so many to choose from. Ankle length, knee length and on special occasion thigh length. I’m short so the boots give me the appearance of being taller.
Hat, scarf and glove sets. I crochet and its nice to have my work admired as I walked down the street in my custom hat, scarf and glove set.

Pumpin patches and carving them with my s/o
Going to sporting events together

@ladycakes I love boots! I just spotted a new pair I want at Aldo.

I love when the leaves on the trees turn pretty shades of yellow, orange, and red.

Fall in Florida is just beautiful and so is this campus.
I love leaving my room around noon on Saturdays just to go people watching. If I’m lucky I’ll get to see couples get married in the MLK breezeway.
The only good/bad thing is that Florida’s fall still permits me to wear shorts, tanks, and flip flops…so I can’t really get away with the gloves, scarves, hats, and furry Timberland boots (which I have only wore once in all the 2 years I had them)…*sigh*…
BUT…that doesn’t mean it doesn’t get cold at night. So to ensure constant warmth in the upcoming days, I put away my summer applicants and applications and made room for the Fall/Winter. Eff the one foot on the floor rule!!
IT’S CUFFING SEASON!!

Like you Slim, I’m in the northeast (not as far north as you though), and I still can’t get used to the weather! So I’m dreading winter…
I love Fall because it’s cute sweater and boot season! I also love that it’s football season!

I love the color of the leaves and Halloween! I also like pulling out my stylish black coat (I love it!)
I hate RAKING LEAVES. Luckily, I live in an apartment now, but I remember the days my parents would make my brothers and sister and I, as well as them, rake leaves ALL DAY.

I hated raking leaves when I was younger. And picking up pecans. We have a huge yard full of pecan trees. So, I was either raking leaves or picking up pecans. Hell, my parents still try to get me home on the weekends to help rake and pick up pecans. smh… I live too close to home….

these are also the exact reasons why autumn is my favorite season. first off my birthday is at the very beginning of fall (shoutout to the libras).
sex/cuddling/qt is always a good reason to enjoy the colder temps. my favorite tv shows are back. my dvr is in overdrive. heroes is kind of getting on my nerves though.
football is great (only 2nd to basketball) but these bcs rankings are stupid. fall fashion is great also. caridgans, sweaters, jackets, etc. just look better to me.

Say what you want but nothing beats the fall rain, it’s soft and you can hear it hitting the leaves on the ground and you just lie there in the perfect warmth created within the cocoon of body heat between you and your baby..! Boy I tell you, ain’t nothing like it!
I love the smell of fall…that crisp clean smell and the smell of burning leaves or a fireplace.
Fall foods…homemade soups and stews, pumpkin spice loaf, sweet potato cake, sock it to me cake, escoveitched fish, apple cider, mulled wine…boy what you talking!
Clothes…what…boots!! Heaven!

another reason why i love fall fashion is the way women dress. i’ve always been a fan of summer dresses and flip flops but that can’t compare to a woman in a nice coat and some fly ass knee high boots.

Fall makes me miss school. I went to an arboretum (no, really, it was an arboretum) masquerading as a college campus; the leaves and this time of year is always beautiful there.
I love sweaters and coats and LAYERS. I look forward to colder months so I can layer up. Boots make me happier than any other type of shoe, so you know I’m in hog heaven when I land in the shoe sections, these days.

I hate to admit it but I’ve been begging for fall to get here, I even went fall/winter shopping early this year.
Things I love about fall:
1. Makeup – Summer heat and makeup does not mix, so in the summer I keep it light. But in the winter I can finally bringout my Mac Studio Fix liquid, black liquid liners, darker lipstick, and it doesn’t melt as soon as I step out my front door.
2. Dark nail polish, I really can’t rock with the funky fresh bright ass 80′s colors, I love my dark purple accessories and dark nails.
3. Ugg Boots, I don’t care how ugly they are, these bad boys are my friends, a dressed down day means jeans, Uggs and stunna shades. Going shopping in Uggs is almost sinful, so comfy.
4.The block stops being “Hot”. Yes the gawkers take there asses inside, probably to watch one of the sports slim mentioned. Now I can walk down the street without the “Letme holla at cha, yo shortie can I git yo numba”
5. Gloves, I’m a slight germaphobe, now I can wear gloves and no longer have to worry about touching the train or bus.
6. Fall Back, an extra hour of sleep, what! What!
Few things I dislike:
1. Flu/Flu Shot – My left arm feels like a brick from this little shot but I can’t risk being laid out in bed, suffering for a week or 2 from enfluenza.
2.Its the start of busy season at my job, my social life takes a nose dive, Friends get all sensitive because I can’t hangout.
3. Football – I hate the random football pool mass emails at work and talk about fantasy football, what’s the big deal with these pretend teams?

allow me to explain the joy of fantasy football.
Every man believes he knows everything about sports. He claims to be the be-all-end-all to sports knowledge. He understands talent and if he was a GM of his favorite team, he could assemble the kind of talent that always contends for a ring.
Fantasy Football always him to compare his sports knowledge to others. Finding the matchups, trading for the right guys, and the Fantasy Draft party night. You get to be a GM. Plus win money just for following your favorite team.

No fake fur, wool and sheep skin. And I’m sorry, your explanation just put so many questions in my head, like. Is fantasy football online gambling, do you win by choosing the best players from the season, even if there team doesn’t win, or do you win if you have all the players from the winning team.
My “right” wasn’t a right your a loser, it was like a head nod even though I’m still confused.

I love fall. I’m a fall baby so I like a lot of things about it, the crispness in the air, the leaves changing colors, the fashion–boots! I don’t wear boots in FL often. maybe around Dec-Jan. I will be packing my fly chocolate brown slouchies and my cute new booties when I go home next week though. lol. And the wear of blazers and jackets in “fall colors”, and sweaters too. Of course I like cuddling and whatnot too–but I do that year round. I really like using my electric blanket on the bed. It helps when sleeping alone. lol #dontjudgeme

*Halloween, I’m a mother so I love how excited my daughter gets about dressing up. And I have an excuse to pull out my naughty nurse costume for daddy and I.
*Football- we have a love hate relationship, we live in a college town and football is HUGE here. I love hearing the marching band practice outside my job and the hype of game day Saturday. I also love cuddling with my man to watch Monday night football. HOWEVER, there is a limit. I mean baby turn it off for a minute or just wait for us to do our thing. I thought we were having one of the best sessions ever and I look up and this ninja is working BUT is watching the damn Jets and the Miami Dolphins at the same time.. ok now I’m offended.
*Chili and cornbread dinners.
*Co-Sgining on the boots, cute coats, scarves and gloves.
*Haunted Hayrides/Houses, I know my sweetie is kinda scared but won’t admit it.. it cracks me up inside.

Lincoln Park After Dark nail polish is the bidness in the fall!
Sorry, Slim, but I am not in the least bit entertained by baseball. It grinds my gears that because of this whole playoff/World Series thing, House is being delayed by at least TWO WEEKS!! That’s just not cool, under any circumstances. I mean…have you seen the previews for the rest of the season?!

I love fall fashions. Sweaters, turtlenecks, turtleneck sweaters ( I look really good in turtlenecks…2 guesses why?) boots, boots, and more boots. Coats, scarves, gloves, hats in fall colors.
I love fall foods, specifically fall smells. Cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, ginger with pumpkin, sweet potato, apples, cranberries. Hot chocolate with a little Bailey’s(or a lot if that’s how you like it) on these cold nights or coffee with a little Bailey’s on these cold mornings
don’t judge me!.I love fall sports!! College Football w/ Sam Adams OctoberFest, baseball with Sam, NFL with Sam.
Halloween!! The only day of the year women can dress as scantily clad as they want and not recieve too much backlash.
And of course, the Autumn cuddle buddy. Not to be confused with the cutty buddy, though sometimes they might be the same person… However, I prefer my cuddle buddy to be someone I actually want to spend time with while our clothers are on, and the cutty doesn’t usually meet that criteria.

Desperate Housewives, Heroes, Trauma, The Forgotten, The Hills, Melrose Place, Mercy, Nip/Tuck, The Office, Grey’s Anatomy, Flash Forward, Monk, Psych…and Degrassi (don’t sleep on it…it’s 100% intense).

I’m indifferent to fall. The problem is I live in Florida. We never have a real fall. If anything we get a few days of a cold front, then it’s back to 100 degrees outside. People rock flip flops and tank tops even up until “winter.” The only reason I know when the seasons change is because of sports. But fall does bring two of my favorite Gator football games: UF’s homecoming and Florida-Georgia. Guess it can’t be half bad after all.
Reply
One more thing…
Homecoming Season!!
I’ve been to several PWI homecomings(saw Common and N.E.R.D. at NC State homecoming concert last year)and they were cool. I have good friends who graduated from PWIs, and we always have fun at their homecomings. But nothing beats an HBCU homecoming. The tailgate, stepshow, alum happy hours/parties. Of course, I am biased.

Things I love about fall:
1. Not having to shave as much since I won’t be exposing the legs.
2. Not having to wash my hair as often since I don’t get as sweaty and dirt.
3. College football season & cuddling up to talk trash and watch college football (yes my legs are hairy, boo, deal with it).
4. Being able to do my hair and actually have it last a few days cuz it doesn’t frizz up and go curly the minute I step outside.
5. Gaining a few extra lbs and not having to watch what I eat as much cuz I’ll be wearing more clothes anyway and more meat = more warmth. Get over it boo.
6. Holidays come back to back – Columbus, Veterans, Thanksgiving, Christmahanukwaanzakuh. Yay for days off!
7. Shows, agreed.
8. Homecomings! =)
9. Candy, pies, and good food season.
10. Fall foliage. =) except not in TX cuz there are no trees… Damn you lone star, damn you…

I was actually hating on this Post. “What’s so good about fall?” However, Slim makes a great arguement. Sure I hated going back to school, but football season was the best. Hitting the grid iron with your teammates, playing in all types of gross weather.. day-in-day-out. I miss being part of a team.
NFL football is the best sport in the world. It amazes me how they hold people hostage with their products. I can not stand when someone tries to talk to me during an NFL game. I would rather watch the Raiders play the Lions than talk to you. And no I don’t want to have $3x with you.. I have done that already and this field goal is more interesting. However you can slob me down while I watch that game but don’t bop your head too high b/c than I can’t see the game.
Than can you make me a sandwhich. ….. please.
Its nice to have African Americans in baseball now… I don’t have to root for dark skinned Latinos. Shout out to CC, Figgins, Kendrick, Rollins, Howard, Kemp, & Martin.
I love TV. But only a few shows tickle my grundle. I have no idea why they took the Wire and The Shield off the air. 24 is getting old but I still love it. Heroes is a let down since season 1. Flashforward and Fringe are the only good new shows. But Lost.. nothing will ever compare to Lost. The greatest two hrs I ever spent was watching the season 3 final. Honorable Mention goes to those great Anime shows: Avatar the Last air bender. Full Metal Alchemist. Boondocks. They may be cartoons, but there is alot of heart in those shows.

1st off, you need to root for a new team. I don’t know why y’all let David Carr go. He would be the 2nd best QB in your division.
I can see how this can be a problem. Although I do know straight men who aren’t THAT into sports. I once knew a girl who would brag about getting face while driving… I thought somethings were just for men, but times are changing.
A good freind of Slim and I once said the greatest joy he ever experienced was getting a ‘Prince of Zumunda’:
Watching SportsCenter, drinking a beer, eating a freshly made sandwhich, while getting dome.
It could be topped only by the completion of the Urban Legend: The Bobbing Italian. Getting dome while playing Madden, eating a sandwhich.. than putting sandwhich on top of the head to finish playing Madden.

THIS! people sleep on D.Carr. Dude is aite man. Better than Jake Delhomme. Im still LMAO at him being put on craigslist for sale by fans!

I don’t know why we let go of D.Carr, either. Yes I do…they want to make Jake the man in Carolina. Except, he sucks in every way possible. He’s thrown an INT in every game this season. And the Craigslist ad was funny.

“Its nice to have African Americans in baseball now… I don’t have to root for dark skinned Latinos. Shout out to CC, Figgins, Kendrick, Rollins, Howard, Kemp, & Martin. ”

FYI, they have always been in baseball. The lavish pub from football and basketball overshadowed it
Finally someone who shares my sentiments when it comes to blacks in baseball…LETS GET IT!!

Yea I forgot Torri Hunter too…
There has always been dudes holding it down Barry and Ken are probably the greatest players of the 90s.
But now the depth is growing. Teams are looking for better overall talent. Alot of ex college football players. College QB who couldn’t read defenses turn into Carl Crawford.

If Griffey had taken steroids he would have 900 homeruns and be the greatest baseball player ever, bar none.

Ok so I just realized I’m from Miami. And not so long ago, all Fall season meant was that Hurricane season was over.
I never really experienced a fall until I went to college. I had never seen leaves change and, subsequently, fall. I had never even heard of North Face or Uggs. Gloves? What do you use those for? Our entire “Winter” and Fall seasons hardly got sub-60 degrees. So, naturally, Fall was merely about looking cute in seasonal sweaters and boots and switching up the colors for the season (I worked in retail).
After living in the NE for 5 years, oddly enough, Fall is now my favorite season. Don’t ask me why. Something must be in the water…

Me either until I moved from Dallas to Chicago. It was a whole new world for me. But we had freezing rain/sleet in Dallas. That was our “snow.”

Florida Fall = no more Hurricanes
And Floridians break out the leather coats when the temp dips below 70. LOL. I do miss the Florida Sunshine!!!

That is SO true! When I go back home and have “the nerve” to wear sandals in 63-degree weather, I’m out of my mind and will surely get pneumonia. They really do break out the leather jackets and the wool kangols when it gets under 70.smh

I’ve always been a huge fan of the fall. Just cold enough to bring you closer to that special one, just warm enough that I don’t have to feel her sweaty ass hands.
Being from NYC, fall was the ill fashion show. Women would dress to the nines to go to work or out. Sure in the summer they let it all hang out, but in the winter they look like a walking burrito. Fall is the perfect balance.
And basketball’s back. Think the Knicks will break .500 this year son!

The NBA is buns (with the exception of Dwight Howard’s arms…my lawd!). Those dudes don’t start playing til the playoffs. I’m waiting for those young mens to come out and play with some fire (no STDs) straight through til their dreams die during March Madness.

my sentiments exactly… love college basketball. I don’t watch NBA until the playoffs. Dwight Howard’s arms and shoulders are too big and too wide for his little head. He is the StrongMad( http://www.hrwiki.org/wiki/File:neweststrongmad.png )of the NBA.

Fun Fall Thangs:
1| Pretty walks
2| Carving Pumpkins
3| Apple Cider
4| The only time to wear fly boots without them getting ruined by the salt/snow
5| Diwali (the Indian New Year) comes in the fall and I get presents!
6| Cuddling with my favorite blankets, without having to fight them off in the middle of the night because it’s too hot.
7| Apple picking, this fall will be my first time! And the first time is
alwaysthe best time.Reply
Fall also reminds me that the Earth is not broken and global warming has not yet changed the game…completely.

*waves hello*
all this talk of how pretty the fall leaves are?!? *shrug* I can’t get jiggy with it, but ok.
fall faves:
sex – now you can bone & not be all sweaty and sticky.
coffee – the season of hot coffee is back. no more drinking hot coffee in the morning and feeling your going to melt while doing so.
boots – doesn’t matter what kind. UGGs, knee high, booties, ACGs, thigh high (if you’re feeling hoeish), timbs, riding boots. no matter the type fall is the season for the boot.
FOOTBALL – the highlight of my season change. VAMOS GIGANTES!
fall peeves:
people acting like they’ve never experienced cold weather. it’s fall. prequel to the winter. that means it’s supposed to be cold. please stop complaining on how cold it is and bundle up.
kids with runny noses on public transportation. send your child with tissues.
leggings replacing pants. i’m all for the “look” but if you’re wearing leggings everyday, i’m scared to know what you plan on wearing in the winter.
tis all.

“people acting like they’ve never experienced cold weather.”
What irks me and cracks me up at the same time is when 2520s just can’t ACCEPT the fact that they must part with their beloved flip-flops or risk frostbite during the winter. Last year I saw this chick in the dead of winter shivering and ish and I glanced down to see her rockin’ some Old Navy plastic a*s flip-flops. Eff her body temparature.

You couldn’t have said it any better…Fall is the best season ever especially on a sports tip! October baseball is the shit because of whats on the line! (Let’s Go Yanks!!)
Plus, Female Body Heat Exchange is the best especially during the fall!! The fall is the kickoff season for a cool nights’ forking session. Keep that body right and that skin tight ladies (there is no excuse for a female to not be soft skinned)…
Slim, you forgot about “The Children of The Fall!” Birthday parties in the fall season are more abundant & much better in my eyes.
Acting according to the season he was born in,

My love of Fall sprouted when I moved from FL to DC:
1) Cool weather = cuddle/spoon season
2) Fall clothing is so much better than Winter clothing (which is just a big a$$ coat)
3) BOOTS!!!!!! All of them!!!
4) Football!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *This love was present before moving to DC, and intensified at FSU!*

Dayum Slim, you’re in my head because I was just thinking this morning that I really do appreciate fall. Even though today is one of the warmer days of Chicago (I think it’s gonna hit early 70s….then drop to like 50 tomorrow. WTF…Chicago, you’se a hot mess).
What Cheekie loves about fall:
- The Colors. The trees are friggin gorgeous and I actually like these colors more than spring ones. There’s something special in the yellows and oranges and reds.
- The Fashion. Trench coats and boots are my homies. I love the sophistication of fall fashion.
- The Indoor Warmth. Even though I hate being cold, I’ve always said it’s easier to get warmer than it is to get cooler (summer heat SUCKS!) and hopefully that warmth will come in the form of
Idris Elbaa good man. Here’s to hoping…and looking forward to it.Reply

It’s been like low 40s in DC for the last week (plus rain) and today the high is mid-70s.
Please, with the foolishness, weatherman.

Plus I don’t have kids and the only holidays I get are thanksgiving n xmas. The only problem wit spring is no football but for me fall is cool until thanksgiving.
